Statistics from the Ministry of Education shows that Kenya schools have over 1,039,000 menstruating girls from primary grade 6 to grade 8 and from secondary form one to secondary 4. Out of the total number of girls, we estimate that about two fifths of the girls are from able families and are able to access sanitary protection. We plan to provide for the other category of the three fifths, which is about to about 600,000 girls from rural poor families and those from the slums of major towns and cities.
