This programme addresses education issues and has a focus on influencing policy using evidence-based research findings. The strategic direction of this program is based on Kenya’s Gender Policy in Education that seeks to ensure that gender issues affecting education attainment are addressed equitably for both boys and girls. There are various projects engulfed within the program which include ;

1.1    School Sanitation Improvement Project – Kajiado Project

Objectives; Advocacy and awareness creation on the whole issue of sexuality/adolescence, hygiene and child rights in relation to the plight of the girl child in Kenya, Acquisition and distribution of a years supply of sanitary towels to the 1800 school girls in 27schools in Kajaido district, Advocacy of the communities on their role in gender budgeting and prioritizing of girls issues in school


1.2 Stop Violence against Girls in Schools in Wenje (SVAGS) Project

Goal-  Stop Violence against Girls in Schools through community level interventions, research and advocacy
Objective- A legal and policy framework that specifically addresses violence against girls in schools, reduce violence against girls by family members, teachers and peers in the intervention district by 50%


1.3 Urban Schools Basic Education Campaign (USBEC) – Usawa Masomoni Project
 
Goal-  Enhancing Gender, Equity and Equality in non formal schools through capacity building
Objectives; To facilitate increase in enrolment, retention, completion and performance of girls in 20 target schools by 2010, To strengthen the capacity of 20 school committees in addressing sexual harassment and gender based violence by 2010, To strengthen the capacity of teachers in the 20 target schools to adopt gender responsive pedagogy

1.4 Inclusive Quality Basic Education Project (IQBE)

Goal-  The right for all children to equitable and inclusive basic education in Kenya, is realized
Objective- Ensure that Children, including the vulnerable and marginalized, receive equitable and quality child friendly basic education in Tharaka, Vihiga and Kwale Districts in Kenya.


1.5.    Improved Gender Equality Project

Goal: Enhance gender equity and equality in primary schools through improved attendance, retention and transition of boys and girls to higher school- The schools targeted in this project are, Rabour Primary School- Kisumu and Kanyakine Primary School- Meru, Murema Primary and Kawangware Primary Schools both in Nairobi
