The campaign has had challenges:-
- Lack of funds to transport the donated sanitary towels to the schools – this means we must hire vehicles to transport the pads,
- Shortage of staff for coordination and movement of the coordinators to the different regions of Kenya
- Girls have to sign forms after receiving the pads and the forms MUST be signed and stamped by the teachers and the head teacher of the particular school; this takes time and staff have to remain out for a number of days.
- Lack of Awareness/information on the proper use of sanitary towels, management and disposal,
- Lack of under wears by targeted girls – Girls are not able to use sanitary towels since they do not have under wears – this means that campaign organizers have to mobilize under wears for girls from very disadvantaged areas
